A senior al-Qaida commander arrested in Pakistan last month has reportedly told his US interrogators that the terrorist network has the capability to build a “dirty” nuclear bomb.

Officials said they are unsure whether to believe Abu Zubaydah, who also told his captors that al-Qaida plans to attack banks in the north-eastern US, sparking an alert last week.
