Bus crash kills 46 in Oman

A bus crash killed 46 people in southern Oman when the vehicle veered off a mountain road and crashed into a valley.

Eight people survived and are in hospital with serious injuries, police say.

The bus was carrying road construction workers, mostly Indians and Bangladeshis. Four of the dead were Omanis.

It is not immediately known why the bus veered off the road on its way to Salalah, some 558 miles south of the capital, Muscat.
