Five gunmen killed in further Middle East violence

A Palestinian suicide bomber has blown himself up in a car at an Israeli military checkpoint in the Gaza strip, slightly injuring two soldiers.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops have killed four gunmen in an abrupt escalation of conflict in the area.
