Sellafield mounts nuclear safety defence to euro onslaught
British Nuclear Fuels was today mounting a major defence of safety standards at the Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant.
BNFL’s head of safety John Clarke was using a public hearing at the European Parliament in Brussels to reject claims that radioactive output from the plant is a health hazard and that the site should be shut down.
