Powell hints at ceasefire deal within 24 hours

US Secretary of State Colin Powell has said he hopes to have negotiated some sort of Middle East ceasefire within the next 24 hours.

Mr Powell said he is making progress in talks with Palestinian and Israeli leaders, but he stressed that any ceasefire deal will be tentative and less than formal.
