Police in South Korea have said seven of the 54 people rescued from the wreckage of a crashed Air China plane, had died later in hospital.

Their deaths bring to 119 the number of people who died as a result of the crash.

The Boeing 767-200 from Beijing was approaching Kimhae Airport near Pusan, South Korea’s second city, when it hit the mountainside near a residential area, police said.

It was not clear whether there were any casualties on the ground.
