Annan calls for UN peacekeepers in Mid-East

UN secretary general Kofi Annan has said the situation in the Middle East has deteriorated so much that UN peacekeepers must be allowed into the region.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and injured since the Israeli army invaded the Palestinian territories in the West Bank two weeks ago to "root out" Palestinian militants.
