Nepalese rebels have killed at least 48 policeman and six civilians in two separate attacks in the west of the country.

35 policemen were killed while guarding the Interior Security Minister’s house in Satbariya village, while another 13 were killed when the Maoist rebels attacked a police station in the nearby town of Lamahi.
