'Dr Death' cleared of apartheid-era crimes

Apartheid-era germ warfare expert Wouter Basson - dubbed Dr Death - was today cleared of all 46 charges of murder, conspiracy, fraud and drug dealing by a South African court.

Pretoria High Court Judge Willie Hartzenberg said the prosecution had failed during the 30 month trial to prove that Dr Wouter Basson had committed any crimes.
