Thousands attend anti-Israeli protest in Paris

Several thousand pro-Palestinian activists have marched through the streets of Paris to protest against the latest Israeli invasion into the Palestinian-controlled cities in the West Bank.

The rally was organised by pro-Palestinian, human rights, anti-racist and leftist groups and remained peaceful despite the presence of hundreds of police officers.

The demonstrators called for an Israeli withdrawal from the Palestinian territories and urged the European Union to sever commercial and military ties with the Israeli government.

Meanwhile, pro-Israeli groups are expected to march in Paris and other cities tomorrow to show support for the Israeli army’s actions and to protest against a spate of anti-semitic attacks in France in recent weeks.
