Greek bus driver charged with manslaughter
A public bus driver was charged with manslaughter today after two people were killed and a third seriously injured in a central Athens crash, authorities said.
Lefteris Rousiotis, 58, was charged following the incident Friday when he lost control of the 54ft articulated bus on a narrow street near the city’s central Omonia square.
Athens’ Urban Transport Association, the driver’s employer, said the vehicle had been examined and no signs of mechanical failure had been found.
