Twenty-five Palestinians have been killed in one of the bloodiest days since Israel began a military offensive in the West Bank.

It comes despite calls from US President George W Bush for Israeli forces to withdraw. Israel says the attacks are aimed at rooting out people suspected of planning and carrying out suicide bombings which have claimed scores of Israeli lives.
