Nigeria and South Africa begin push for talks in Zimbabwe

Nigerian and South African mediators are meeting in Zimbabwe today in an effort to establish talks between President Robert Mugabe’s ruling Zanu-PF party and the opposition Movement for Democratic Change.

However, officials from both parties said they are waiting to hear the mediators’ proposals before deciding whether to participate in the talks.
