Rwandan war crimes trial adjourned until September
The UN War Crimes Tribunal in Tanzania has adjourned the trial of a Rwandan army officer accused of masterminding genocide to allow the defence teams to receive key documents and witness statements.
The trial of Colonel Theoneste Bagosora and three military co-defendants opened in Arusha yesterday. However, the defence claimed they had not received French translations of the prosecution’s pre-trial brief and the report of the first witness, human rights activist Alison de Forge.
