Group linked to Arafat claims bombing responsibility

The Al-Aqsa Brigade, a militia linked to Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement, has claimed responsibility for today's Jerusalem suicide bombing, which killed at least three people.

The movement identified the bomber as 22-year-old Mohammed Hashaika, a resident of the West Bank village of Talooza.

The Israeli Government has responded quickly to blame Mr Arafat for the bombing, saying he is not interested in a ceasefire.

Gideon Meir, an official in the Israeli Foreign Ministry, said: "Israel is looking for a ceasefire and this is the Palestinian answer."
