Rod Stewart's son faces drugs charges
Rocker Rod Stewart’s son Sean has been arrested outside a Los Angeles night club on suspicion of being illegally in possession of prescription drugs.
Sheriff’s deputies, called to the infamous Viper Room early on Sunday morning, picked up a drunken Stewart, said Sergeant Neill Murchison.
The 21-year-old was booked on suspicion of illegal having prescription drugs on him. Police are still testing the substance.
He spent Sunday morning in a West Hollywood jail, until his mother Alana posted £7,000 bail, said Sgt Murchison. Stewart is due in court on May 15 in Beverly Hills.
The Viper Room became a notorious Hollywood hot spot after actor River Phoenix died of an overdose in October 1993 outside the Sunset Boulevard club.
Sean Stewart is due in a Los Angeles court today on a separate assault charge - allegedly fighting outside a Malibu restaurant in December. The brawl was broken up by passer-by and TV’s Superman, Dean Cain.
