The battle over hunting with hounds was moving to Britain's House of Lords today after MPs sent an emphatic message to peers and Government ministers that they want an outright ban.

Following an impassioned debate, the House of Commons last night voted overwhelmingly - by 386 votes to 175, a majority of 211 - in favour of a ban.
