White farmer murdered as African leaders arrive in Zimbabwe

A white farmer was murdered in Zimbabwe today as President Robert Mugabe prepared to meet the leaders of South Africa and Nigeria to discuss his controversial election win.

Terry Ford was held up against a tree and shot dead near Norton, 20 miles west of Harare, in an attack on his homestead by suspected ruling party militants, the Commercial Farmers Union said.
