Mother convicted of children's murder

Andrea Yates, the 37-year-old housewife who admitted she drowned her five children, has been convicted of murder by a US jury that rejected her claim of insanity.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Yates, of Houston, Texas, who had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. She also could be sentenced to life in prison.
