Four US diplomats detained in Zimbabwe

There are reports that four US diplomats have been detained in Zimbabwe.

It follows the chaos of Zimbabwe’s presidential elections as the government defied an order to extend voting.

Two senior opposition officials have already been arrested and the state-run media has accused Britain and America of preparing ‘‘a major military offensive’’.

US embassy spokesman Bruce Warton called the claim ‘‘ridiculous.’’
