Villages evacuated after bomb discovery
Two villages in northern France were evacuated today as bomb squads prepared to defuse an unexploded 1,100 pound bomb dropped by the US air force during the Second World War.
About 400 people were moved from the villages of Rebecques and Mametz in the Pas-de-Calais region as soldiers cordoned off an 2,640 feet security perimeter around the bomb, officials said.
