NATO launches fresh raid in eastern Bosnia
NATO soldiers have reportedly begun a new operation near the eastern Bosnian village of Celebici, where they failed to find former Bosnian-Serb leader Radovan Karadzic yesterday.
A spokesperson for the NATO-led SFOR peacekeeping mission confirmed that an operation is underway, but refused to release any further details.
Locals said the military action is centred on a village around three miles from Celebici, which was surrounded and searched by NATO troops yesterday in their search for Mr Karadzic.
NATO had received information that Mr Karadzic, who has been indicted for war crimes, was hiding in the Bosnian village, but they found no trace of him during yesterday’s raid.
