Israel hammers Arafat compounds in West Bank strike
Israeli forces hammered Yasser Arafat’s office and police compounds in Gaza and police buildings in the West Bank, killing 12, after six soldiers were killed in a Palestinian attack.
As Israeli warships fired machine guns and a missile at Arafat’s office, killing four guards, attack helicopters launched missiles at Gaza police compounds and an F-16 jet dropped a bomb, sending huge plumes of smoke into the air.
