Milosevic to cross-examine witness

Slobodan Milosevic will today cross-examine his trial’s first witness, when he questions a Kosovar Albanian who testified that the former Yugoslav president had a ‘‘scorched earth policy’’ against Kosovo Albanians.

Mahmut Bakali, head of the Communist Party in Kosovo during the last years under Tito, told the court yesterday that the Yugoslav leadership under Milosevic planned to wipe out 700 Muslim settlements in Kosovo.
