Israel: Two killed in checkpoint blast

At least two people have died after a bomb exploded at an Israeli checkpoint between Jerusalem and the Jordan Valley today.

The blast happened after Israeli police stopped a suspicious vehicle at the roadblock, which is near the Maaleh Adumim Jewish settlement.

The mayor of the settlement said the occupant of the vehicle detonated the blast, killing himself and a policeman.

The checkpoint where the attack occurred is a permanent position run by Israeli paramilitary police.
