Israeli police shoot dead Palestinian gunmen

Israeli police have shot dead a Palestinian gunman.

His accomplice fled in a car, which exploded, killing him and injuring three policemen.

It is thought the pair had been on their way to an army base near the Israeli city of Hadera.

Yesterday a Palestinian blew himself up in a shooting on the West Bank, killing two teenagers.

Israel then retaliated by launching air strikes on the city of Nablus.
