The Dean of Reading has been charged by police in connection with the seizure of pornographic images of children.

Catholic Priest Fr Michael O’Kelly, 46, is due to appear before magistrates in Newbury on February 20.

Fr O’Kelly has been charged by police with the possession of indecent pseudo photos of children and making indecent pseudo photos of children, said a Thames Valley Police spokeswoman.

He has been on administrative leave since his arrest on October 15 last year in a joint operation between the force and Customs and Excise.

Police seized material from his home in a dawn raid following an inquiry into material posted to the UK.
