Afghan govt welcomes detention of Minister

Afghan’s new interim government has welcomed the detention of a former Taliban foreign Minister by US forces in Kandahar.

New Afghan Foreign Minister Abdullah says the news will serve as a message to other Taliban leaders that they can not escape justice.

Mullah Abdul Wakil Mutta-Wakil turned himself in and is being interrogated.

American troops are continuing to search for remaining pockets of resistance in the former Taliban stronghold.
