Princess suffered stroke, cardiac problems

Princess Margaret died at 6.30am today in hospital.

Queen Elizabeth's sister suffered a stroke yesterday afternoon and had cardiac problems overnight, a statement from Buckingham Palace confirmed.

Her children, Lady Sarah Shatto and Lord Linley, were at her side when she died.

The Princess had suffered two strokes in recent years.

She was 71.
