Four killed in explosion at Kuwaiti oil field

Four oil workers have died and another 17 were injured overnight in an explosion caused by a leak at an oil field in Kuwait.

The explosion triggered a massive fire which destroyed half the facility and is still burning, according to Oil Minister Adel al-Subaih.

A spokesman for Kuwait Oil said the leak started at the Rawdatain field’s gathering centre and caught fire as workers attempted to contain it.

The bodies of the four workers were discovered this morning.
