A British charity worker suspected of being a member of the al-Qaida terror group has been released by Pakistani authorities, the Foreign Office confirmed today.

James McLintock, 37, who is originally from Dundee in Scotland, was arrested on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Christmas Eve.
