Six charged over Calcutta gun attack
Indian authorities have charged six people with murder in connection with a gun attack which left four policemen dead in Calcutta yesterday.
The six suspects, who include three teachers at a local Islamic school, were also charged with waging war against the state.
They face life in prison if convicted.
The four policemen were killed and another 20 were injured when four gunmen opened fire from passing motorbikes as they stood guard outside a US facility in Calcutta.
Indian police said 55 people are still in custody in connection with the shooting.
