A court in the US has sentenced an Algerian man to 24 years in prison for his involvement in a plot to bomb Los Angeles airport during millennium celebrations on January 1st, 2000.

32-year-old Mokhtar Haouari, who lived in Canada, was convicted of supplying forged ID cards and cash to two men involved in the plot.
