Al-Qaida informant surrenders to US Marines
A man claiming to have information about the al-Qaida network has surrendered to US marines at their base in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan.
The man supposedly walked up to a gate at the Kandahar airport, where thousands of US troops are based, and said he had information about Osama bin Laden’s terror group.
US Marines spokesman, Lieutenant James Jarvis, says "military intelligence is jumping with joy over the opportunity to talk to him".
