Musharraf declares terror crackdown
President Pervez Musharraf says he will not permit terrorism on Pakistani territory and announced a crackdown on Islamic extremism.
This is including a ban on two Kashmiri groups accused by India of last month's attack on its parliament.
Mr Musharraf, speaking in Islamabad via a nationally televised address, also announced moves to curb foreign students studying in Pakistani religious schools, long a breeding ground for religious extremism.
He also affirmed Pakistan's moral and diplomatic support for Kashmir in its struggle for self-determination but banned two Kashmiri extremist groups - Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Tayyaba - blamed by India for December attack 13 attack on the Indian parliament in New Delhi.
