New Zealand wants Zimbabwe suspended
New Zealand has called for Zimbabwe to be suspended from the Commonwealth for its increasingly dictatorial and abusive regime.
The call today by New Zealand’s foreign affairs minister Phil Goff follows the Harare government’s passage of two controversial laws yesterday which critics say are designed to stifle dissent ahead of President Robert Mugabe’s re-election bid in March.
