We are ready for war says India's army chief

India is fully prepared for a conventional war, the nation’s army chief said today, adding that the border situation between Indian and Pakistani forces was serious.

‘‘Yes, we are fully ready,’’ General Sunderajan Padmanabhan told a New Delhi news conference when asked if India was ‘‘ready for a conventional war.’’
