First al-Qaida prisoners being transferred Cuba

The first group of al-Qaida prisoners has left Afghanistan under tight security to begin the 8,000-mile journey to jail in Cuba.

The 2,700 soldiers at Kandahar airport fired tracer bullets in response to reports of gunfire, but there were no casualties and no sign of any enemy gunmen near the base.
