Bush fires expected to get worse in Australia

Massive bush fires are still raging around Sydney and now are heading closer to a tiny beach village to the south of the Australian City.

Officials say the fires, which have been sweeping bushland for thirteen days now, are the worst on record.

Hopes that the flames can be quenched by fire fighters have been dashed as the weathermen predict soaring temperatures and dry outback winds.

One hundred and seventy homes have been destroyed and 1.2 million acres of land has been scorched since Christmas Eve.
