US Marines on mission to capture Omar

US Marines are today on a mission to capture Taliban leader, Mullah Mohammed Omar, thought to be hiding in the remote mountains of central Afghanistan.

Baghran is now the focus of attention with claims Omar is hiding out there.

American ground forces are reported to have joined anti-Taliban forces in the area about 100 miles from Kandahar.

There are also reports Osama bin Laden may be hiding out in the Baghran area, but the Pentagon admits it does not know his whereabouts.
