Israel ends Bethlehem blockade

Israel has ended its blockade of Bethlehem as a Christmas gesture, but upheld its travel ban on Yasser Arafat despite international protests.

A government spokesman said the Palestinian leader will not be able to attend Orthodox Christmas celebrations in Bethlehem on January 6 unless he arrests the killers of an Israeli Cabinet minister.
