UN struggling to feed Kandahar refugees
The United Nations World Food Programme has said it is struggling to deliver aid to an estimated 238,000 refugees around the southern Afghan city of Kandahar.
A UN spokesman said the city is a no-go area because of continued fighting between rival militias who seized control of the city after the Taliban surrendered it.
UN aid agencies have returned to other parts of Afghanistan, but tribal commanders around Kandahar are allegedly intimidating aid workers and demanding tolls for aid shipments.
