US food shipments to Cuba give countries new hope

The first US commercial food shipments have arrived in communist Cuba, raising hopes among people in both countries the symbolic act will be a foot in the door to future trade.

Carrying 26,400 tons of American corn, the Mexican freighter left New Orleans on Friday for the Havana port.
