A fire at a hotel in the centre of Paris has killed four people and injured eight.
The blaze started on the ground level of the Hotel du Palais, on a street along the River Seine near the Louvre Museum.
The flames spread to a stairwell and climbed to the top floor of the seven-storey building.
Of the injured, seven suffered from smoke inhalation. One person was in a serious condition.
About 150 firefighters in 30 fire engines rushed to the hotel at about 3am local time and worked for two hours to bring the flames under control.
