Eight believed dead in violence in Algeria

Eight people, including a mayor and his aide, have been killed in attacks by Islamic militants in Algeria, according to reports.

The attackers sprayed gunfire at a bus in Beri Mered, about 50 km west of the capital Algiers, killing four people and injuring three others.
