Nine killed in Colombia
Nine people, including five rebels and two civilians, have been killed in fighting around Columbia, authorities said.
Government troops killed four members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, or FARC, in a rural area near the town of Cabrera, 55 miles south west of Bogota, as part of the army’s campaign to confront guerillas in the rural areas around the capital.
FARC rebels executed a mother and son outside the town of Sonson and in Gigante, FARC rebels bombed a passing patrol on a rural road killing two police officers and a guerrilla.
