Former first lady laid to rest in private ceremony

Former first lady Marike de Klerk was buried in a private ceremony today, five days after she was strangled to death in her Cape Town apartment.

Police said on Friday that a 21-year-old security guard who worked at de Klerk’s housing complex had confessed to the killing and would appear in court on Monday to face murder charges.
