Karzai says Mullah Omar is still missing

Afghanistan’s new leader, Hamid Karzai, has said Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar is still missing, despite some reports that he might still be in the surrendered city of Kandahar.

In an interview yesterday, Mr Karzai said: “We don’t know where Mullah Omar is. We have no information about his whereabouts.”
