Opposition forces from the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad have reportedly captured a valley below the Tora Bora mountain complex following a battle with al-Qaida fighters today.

Tribal commander Alim Shah, who is not part of the Northern Alliance, said his men have surrounded the Al-Qaeda forces, which are refusing to surrender.
