US commandos land for final assault on bin Laden's hideout

US commandos have landed in Jalalabad for an assault against the hideouts of Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar.

The Afghan news agency Ariana said four helicopters carrying 60 US commandos had landed at Jalalabad airport.

The US commandos had arrived after a tip off by Hazrat Ali, a senior anti-Taliban leader, who met them at the airport.

The location of the hideouts of Osama Bin Laden in the Tora Bora mountains in Nangarhar province and Mullah Omar in Kandahar were said to be known to US forces.

"Now it is matter of hours that the US commandos will get hold of Osama bin Laden," sources close to Hazrat Ali said.
